I'll preface this by reminding Shakers, I'm a dual Irish-American citizen who often acutely misses my native California and whose dearest friends in the world still mostly reside in the U.S.
Then I'll go on to ask, why the heck do Americans stand for it?!
The Irish minimum wage rose to 8.65 Euro per hour today--that's roughly $11.72 depending on the exact exchange rate.
Compare that to the $5.15 per hour U.S. federal minimum wage.
I know you can't directly compare, the U.S. being so vast and costs of living varying so greatly blah blah blah.
But still!
